Lotus Elan Turbo (M100) S2, 1995 For Sale

This car drives and handles superbly thanks to the turbocharged 1.6 engine and the Lotus chassis. The upgraded front brakes stop the car quickly and confidently.

It has the optional cream leather interior and air conditioning – although the air con is currently non-functional.

I’ve owned the car for the last 18 months and used it daily. It hasn’t once let me down and returns between 30 and 35mpg. Running costs are reasonable for a car of this type.

The current mileage is just over 88000.

The good bits:

• Piper stainless steel exhaust fitted.
• Everest chip fitted (can be removed).
• Hi-Spec front brake conversion.
• Clear indicator lenses all round
• Car had a major brake overhaul this summer. Front and rear pads and discs were replaced and the rear calipers were also replaced. Some of the metal brake pipes were also changed to pass the MOT.
• Front tyres were replaced in July
  
• MOT until July 2012. Taxed until the end of Jan 2012.
• Comes with a huge folder of receipts, original sales brochure.
• Comes with a rain cover and a rear wind deflector.
• M100EMK number plate comes with the car.

 

The bad bits:

• The oil pressure light doesn’t work although the gauge does work.
• The battery light stays on for about 30 seconds after starting but the voltmeter shows that the alternator is charging properly.
• Air con doesn’t work. It worked for about a month after I bought the car then stopped. There may be a leak.
• Front handle on the hood is cracked.

The car is located in Mid Wales, about 100 miles from Manchester and about 80 from Birmingham.
