LOTUS Excel SE. 60,000 miles, 2 owners, FSH & full photo restoration. Very rare!

Lotus Excel SE in Pearlescant White with blue leather and tweed interior and with the classic red Lotus badging outside. This is a genuine later 180bhp high compression red top engined car and NOT the earlier low compression 160bhp model. The car is standard apart from a CD player.

This car has only had 2 previous owners and has a huge history file. Every MOT from new and a full photographic rebuild. This coupled with a full service history makes this a very are vehicle indeed. Only 60,000 miles in 25 years!

I have not used the car for over a year now due to working abroad but it is stored indoors at a Lotus main dealer and is regularly started and driven by them.

The wheels could do with a respray and the dealer has informed me that there are a couple of small patcher of lacquer peel that should ideally be addressed. As can be seen from the pictures, these aren't easily noticed from any distance.

There is plenty of MOT on the car but I'll offer a full 12 months at the time of sale. The car is currently SORN.

I will miss the car but cannot justify keeping it with the time I spend out the country :o( I am advertising her at a bargain price seeing as I have been quoted under £300 to have any paint sorted and she has an agreed insurance valuation (after a full inspection by the insurers specialist engineer) of £5000.

This is a car that with a couple of minor paint niggles sorted is one in a million with the mileage and history that accompanies her. If you know anything about Excels then you will know how much fun they are to drive, how many heads they turn and just how practical they can be if you need to take the wife and kids with you to a classic car show!

The car is HPI clear. I'm sure I'll remember more as time goes on ;o)

Another thought................... The car had a major 'C' type service about 100 miles ago which included the timing belt, new brakes and lots of other stuff (everything to keep it 100%). This cost well over £1000 but means nothing will need doing for some time to come.

The last MOT revealed that the tyres were all reasonably close to the leal limit (although they passed the MOT ok). Even though the car has done no miles since the MOT I'm assuming that the new MOT will require 4x new tyres so that they are nice and fresh. This will obviously all be done prior to sale.
